Who's it for?
Company must have a founder or executive who is a UNC alumnus, faculty, staff, student, or parent. Must also be raising seed or series A equity of $100,000 to $3 million.
What problem does it solve?
Having a strong entrepreneurial community within both UNC and entrepreneurs close to UNC is important to keep driving growth of the community around us.
How does it help?
We are dedicated to connecting, supporting, and cultivating the UNC entrepreneurial community by providing capital.
The Carolina Angel Network (CAN) brings together the UNC entrepreneurial community and the UNC alumni network to empower the early stage new businesses that drive our future. Our mission is to support the UNC startup community with funding and advice from experienced alumni who are members of the network. CAN is an angel investing platform for members and co-investment funds (Venture Capital Angel Multiplier Fund). In 2016 the CAN program was founded by and supported by the UNC Office of Innovation, Entrepreneurship and Economic Development, UNC Development Office, Kenan-Flagler Business School, the UNC Law School and Vice Chancellor of Finance & Administration. The team started evaluating its first deals in February 2017.
