The CVCC Small Business Center helps individual start businesses and small business owners grow their business.
The CVCC Small Business Center hosts Shark Tank events for CVCC students each fall and for local high school students each spring. Participants deliver a pitch on their business idea to a panel of judges, focusing on their business, their target market, their competition, and how they'll reach their customers. Top finishers win prizes from support of our sponsors.
Who is this program for?
Our fall competition is open to students enrolled at CVCC. The spring competition is open to high school students in the local area, Catawba, Alexander, Burke, and Caldwell counties.
What problem does it solve?
The Shark Tank business pitch programs promote entrepreneurship, critical thinking and public speaking.
How does it help?
The Shark Tank program provides real-life practice to participants in delivering a business pitch, with feedback from local business leaders.
