The Wilkes EDC holds an annual Entrepreneurial Grant Competition. Entrepreneurs in a broad range of industries such as food service, recreation, construction, IT, retail business, and more are encouraged to apply. The competition is held annually and interested entrepreneurs are encouraged to reach out to the Wilkes Economic Development Corporation for more information. In 2019, the Wilkes WDC awarded $12,500 grants between five companies. Business canvas models are judged with an emphasis on sustainability and funding impact to the business.
