Forge Greensboro is a nonprofit community makerspace.
Forge Greensboro is a place where hands-on people can gather to work on projects while sharing ideas, equipment, tools, and knowledge.
Our mission is to foster a creative and collaborative environment for experimentation and development in making, skill-building, technology, and art through interacting with the local community through education and cultural participation, and sharing the experience of making locally and globally.
Who is this program for?
Members of Forge Greensboro range from entrepreneurs and trade students, to hobbyists and curious tinkerers. Anyone who enjoys learning new skills and meeting out of the box thinkers is a welcome candidate for membership.
What problem does it solve?
Tools, equipment, and technology can be very expensive for an individual to purchase and maintain. Thus, many are discouraged from pursuing their creative and inventive ideas, or from experiencing a trade skill, or from pursuing entrepreneurship.
How does it help?
By sharing the costs of tools, equipment, and technology as a low monthly fee with other members, Forge members enjoy access to a facility with the tools they need for a business, prototype, experience, or hobby.
