Silicon Hollar is an information source dedicated to promoting entrepreneurship and connecting the innovators of the High Country.
The intent of Silicon Hollar is to transplant the best traits of Silicon Valley to the High Country and weave them into our unique ecosystem while maintaining our own unique identity.
We believe the entrepreneur lives at the center of everything we do.
Collectively it’s the role of Silicon Hollar to support them through mentorship, capital, facilitating key introductions, and providing “real-world” education.
At Silicon Hollar we work closely with the team at Startup High Country, we hold events like the monthly Startup Social and hackathons, and we make entrepreneur education and coaching available on a regular basis. We're the support mechanism for anything high tech around Boone and Blowing Rock, North Carolina.
Who is this program for?
Seed to early-stage businesses in the High Country that are looking for help developing their business and connecting with other business developers.
What problem does it solve?
Watauga County lacks a significant presence of high growth technology companies.
How does it help?
We don't want to create another "Silicon Valley" in the high country, but we do want to spark innovative thought, provide some inspiration and serve as an information and networking resource for the entrepreneurs driving innovation in our region.
