The Wilkes Chamber of Commerce began the Wilkes Women in Leadership program in February of 2016. The purpose of this leadership program is to equip top female talent to break through the barriers that have historically impeded career development and empower them to take their place at the highest levels of leadership. In today's evolving business arena, every woman must be prepared to lead her organization through periods of disruptive innovation and rapid change. Being a part of this elite group of women representing business, industry, and nonprofits throughout Wilkes and regionally, participants will learn to capture new opportunities for innovation, drive organizational change, develop talent in others, and contribute more broadly to ongoing success. Wilkes Women in Leadership meet quarterly at varied locations to gain greater insight of the overall community. Each session features a time of one-on-one networking, influential presentations, and an opportunity to build relationships with fellow women leaders.
